Unique features of roller shades:

  • Water-repellent—resistant to moisture and stains.
  • Antistatic—do not attract dust.
  • A wide variety of colors, materials, and textures.
  • Can be used with or without curtains.
  • They don’t take up much space next to the window.
  • Block out sunlight and protect against heat.

How They Work and Installation

The roller shade fabric is wound into an aluminum cassette or onto a tube using a mechanism, depending on the type of roller shade you choose. The position of the roller shade fabric is adjusted or locked in place using a chain.

They can be installed on the window sash, window frame, wall, or ceiling.

Fabrics and Colors

Lightweight, sheer fabrics serve as a direct replacement for day curtains, while colored fabrics block out light and provide privacy; rubberized and thick fabrics completely block out light and prevent the room from overheating, as they do not let sunlight through; conversely, they help retain heat during the cold season. Specialized SCREEN and GLASGARD fabrics block sunlight but are translucent (except for the white shade of Glasgard), therefore ensuring excellent visibility of the view outside from the inside.
